Scarborough Council LLC1 Goes Digital from 29th November

HM Land Registry have announced that Scarborough Council will be next to have their Local Land Charges (LLC1) data made available – from Monday 29th November 2021.

They will join a growing number of Councils who are having their LLC data digitised. Scarborough is the second council in the Yorkshire Water region to undergo the transformation, following Hambleton's move over in October.

What will happen with the orders I place through Scarborough Council?

For SafeMove customers, the process for ordering a full local authority search from Scarborough Council will remain exactly the same.

You will notice a decrease in price, as HM Land Registry continue to standardise their costings with the rollout of the new register. The price of the Scarborough local authority search will reduce by £13 from Monday 29th November 2021.

You will notice some differences in the way your results are returned:

  • Your LLC1 result will be returned faster than normal (typically within 24 hours), as the report will be processed via the new LR Digital Register
  • There will be some changes to the LLC1 report format, as the data will be returned from Land Registry – instead of your Local Authority

The CON29 will continue to be returned as it always has been, in accordance with the Local Authority's turnaround times and as specified at the point of order.
