SafeMove Stakeholder Event

Bookings are now being taken for the 2019 SafeMove Stakeholder event which is being held in Leeds on Wednesday 25th September. You are invited to join us.

SafeMove’s free Stakeholder Events are aimed at cross-discipline professionals working within the land and property sectors. They present industry stakeholders with the opportunity to boost their knowledge first-hand from notable industry experts in an informal setting.

Keynote Speakers

Kate Faulkner - Property Market Analyst & Commentator
Kate is one of the UK’s leading property experts, focusing on consumer education and providing free independent property advice via Propertycheckists.co.uk. She regularly writes for the national press and her opinions are frequently sought by the TV and radio media outlets which includes regular appearances on ITV’s This Morning and BBC Breakfast. Kate has also initiated and created The Lettings Industry Council and The Homebuying and Selling Group.

Following her successful appearance at our 2018 event, Kate is returning once again to bring you up to date with forecasts in the property market using her own entertaining, yet informative style.
Linda Wright - Director, PlaniTWright Town Planning Consultancy
Linda is a planning consultant advising property developers and investors across England and Wales. She is a key note speaker, writer and guest lecturer at Manchester, Liverpool and Bolton universities. She has enjoyed a successful 35-year career in planning in both the public and private sectors – with the result that she has usually seen most planning problems before. Her pragmatic approach and insight into the planning system have been described as ‘invaluable’. She is truly a gamekeeper turned poacher. Linda’s presenting style is both informative and entertaining – she says ‘Let’s face it the English planning system can be a minefield so we have to inject a little humour to make it tolerable and practical.’

Linda will be leading discussions on the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and Section 106 Agreements, the relationship between the two and what it means for housing and land developers.
Jamie Winch - Policy & Stakeholder Engagement Manager – HM Land Registry
Jamie is Policy & Stakeholder Engagement Manager on the HM Land Registry’s Local Land Charges Programme (LLC). He has conducted research and feasibility testing with key industry stakeholders and assisted in the development of the necessary policy to support the LLC and Wider Powers legislation during the passage of the Infrastructure Act 2015 through the parliamentary process and more recently worked on the development of the Local Land Charges Rules 2016.

Jamie will be presenting a live demonstration of the LLC online register and an overview of the HM Land Registry’s digital strategy which is being rolled out across the UK’s local authorities.
Andrew operates within The Coal Authority's Mining Reports Retail Team (MRRT) that provides commercial and retail products including the official CON29M mining report to a wide range of customers including conveyancers, land remediators and housing developers.

Andrew will be leading discussions on the recently relaunched official CON29M coal mining report. He’ll be giving an overview of its new features, how user feedback has influenced its content and new look and why conveyancers are using it to give clarity to their clients whilst saving time and paper for themselves.
Tom Lyes - Key Relationship Manager, Lawyer Checker 
Tom has worked in business development in the legal sector for 8 years with a focus on Conveyancing during which he helped grow a national Conveyancing firm from a top 200 to one of the top 50 Conveyancers in the country. He currently works closely with law firms across the North of England with regards to their cyber security and fraud prevention strategies.

Tom will be looking at the various fraud risks that that law firms face in 2019 and beyond. He'll spend time discussing vendor conveyancing fraud, email modification fraud and the ever-growing sophistication of cyber criminals and how law firms can protect themselves against these relevant threats.
Amy Parkinson – Customer Relationship Manager, SafeMove
Amy has worked for Yorkshire Water's SafeMove for over 15 years and has a wealth of experience when it come to the CON29DW drainage and water report for conveyancers. Along the way, she’s advised on many conveyancing matters and can give an in-depth evaluation on the report. Amy has been delivering solutions to Property Solicitors in the Yorkshire Region for many years and has built up a reputation of giving solid practical advice and support.

Amy will be opening the debate that centres around the differences between the official CON29DW water and drainage conveyancing report and the many personal searches that are available on the market. Using case studies, she'll be asking, how do these differing report types matter to you and the home buyer and why should you care?
