Now Booking: Sheffield CPD – July 2019


You are invited to the next SafeMove CPD event on Wednesday 3rd July 2019 in Sheffield

Aimed at conveyancers and property lawyers, our half-day event is being held at the Mercure Sheffield Parkway on the morning of Wednesday 3rd July 2019. Attendees will be able to learn from leading industry professionals who'll be presenting key subjects ranging from coal mining searches, reducing the risks of fraud, personal v official drainage and water searches and the impact of planning on your transactions. All delivered in easy to digest bite-size sessions throughout the morning.

Paul Addison, Dev Assist | 60 minutes
Paul's presentataion is entitled "How to avoid being sued for £2 million" in which he'll be discussing the National Planning Policy, the current housing supply situation, the UK's strategic housing land availability and the impact of the Bird & Bird negligence case law on property conveyancing law.
Amy Parkinson, SafeMove | 30 Minutes
Conveyancers are aware of the official Con29DW drainage and water report but don’t necessarily understand the differences between it and the Regulated personal searches that are available. Using case study examples, Amy will go through the key differences between the two report types from which conveyancers will be in a position to make an informed choice on which one to use when it comes to mitigating the risks for their clients whilst maintaining their own due diligence.
Clare Tasker, The Coal Authority | 30 minutes
Clare will be leading discussions on the recently relaunched official CON29M coal mining report. She’ll be giving an overview of its new features, how user feedback has influenced its content and new look and why conveyancers are using it to give clarity to their clients whilst saving time and paper for themselves. 
Tom Lyes, Lawyer Checker | 30 minutes
Tom will be looking at the various fraud risks that that law firms face in 2019. He'll spend time discussing vendor conveyancing fraud, email modification fraud and the ever growing sophistication of cyber criminals and how law firms can protect themselves against these relevant threats.
